Kyle Shanahan’s squad was looking to get back to the .500 mark with a victory over the visiting Cardinals. But San Francisco’s defense was burned for 437 total yards, including 163 yards on the ground.

Jimmy Garoppolo wound up throwing for 326 yards but was sacked five times and picked off once. The Niners ran for only 39 yards on 11 tries and finished with three total turnovers. Shanahan’s club dropped to a disappointing 0-3 within the division.

The Purple Gang made their way to Baltimore looking to get back to the .500 mark. The Vikings owned 14-point leads in the first and second half. But Minnesota’s defense spent a lot of time on the field in a game that eventually wound up in overtime.

The Ravens ran a total of 89 plays, gained 500 total yards and owned the ball for 46:04. That was in contrast to Mike Zimmer’s team, which managed 318 yards on 52 plays and had the football for 23:40.

The last time we saw Pete Carroll’s team they were pushing around the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars. And the fact remains is that the defending NFC West champions have already lost one more regular-season game than they a year ago.

Quarterback Russell Wilson could be back this week after missing the last three games. But the Seattle defense has had its issues and entered Week 9 having allowed the second-most total yards per game in the NFL.
