The Chiefs will average 5.0 yards per carry

If Clyde Edwards-Helaire manages to make it back to practice in time to suit up for the game against the Raiders, it would be a hell of a time for him to make his return.

The running back has been missing since Week 5 with an MCL sprain. Andy Reid told reporters last Friday that could be a week or two away from coming back. It seems unlikely he’ll make it in time for Sunday. And that’s unfortunate.

Las Vegas has been vulnerable to the run all season. They rank 28th in rushing yards per game allowed and even that average of 133.5 is helped by a 39-yard rushing performance by the Steelers in Week 2. They’ve given up more than 130 yards on the ground six times. Opposing teams average 4.6 yards per carry against them.

The better the Chiefs’ rushing attack is, the better their offense is. They miss Edwards-Helaire, but mostly they miss having a go-to guy. Darrel Williams and Derrick Gore have to make it work on Sunday and Reid has to give them a chance.
