How could Browns acquire him? A Day 2 pick would be perfect.

Even if the Browns do everything in their power to get a quarterback like Rodgers, it may not be enough. Rodgers will go where Rodgers wants to go. Cleveland could still roll the dice on someone in the draft.

The Browns know the value of having a quarterback on a rookie contract. They’ve paid pennies for Mayfield over the past four years. Instead of overpaying for what they know, there’s an argument for dipping back into the draft in hopes of hitting the jackpot this time.

Cleveland might be in an ideal situation in this upcoming draft. This isn’t an especially strong draft class when it comes to quarterbacks, so the chance to get one of the better passers on the board is higher in the middle of the first round.

If the Browns are picking in the early teens, they could land someone like Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral, Malik Willis, Kenny Pickett or Sam Howell. Just look at what Mac Jones is doing with the Patriots. He went No. 15 in the draft.

The scouts would need to do their due diligence to figure out which of those quarterbacks has the highest ceiling but there’s potential to be had.
