2. Top fantasy football pickups for Week 11 – Atlanta Falcons RB Wayne Gallman

The Atlanta Falcons’ backfield has been a situation most fantasy owners have avoided since Mike Davis has been a disaster this season. Cordarrelle Patterson, thanks to his newfound running back eligibility, has been the primary rushing option for fantasy rosters but Wayne Gallman put himself on the map in Week 10.

Gallman was given 15 carries against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10, a significant workload compared to Davis and Patterson, who received four carries apiece. The Falcons began working the lightly-used Gallman into the game even before garbage time was a factor, a sign that he has earned the trust of the coaching staff.

This is certainly an interesting development for Gallman, who gained 55 yards on the ground while adding a catch for 21 yards for good measure. Gallman has served as a feature back before, notably leading the Giants’ backfield after Saquon Barkley went down for the year in 2020, albeit delivering unspectacular totals along the way.

No one should be expecting a season savior from Gallman, who entered the week rostered in 0 percent of Yahoo leagues, but any chance you get to add a potential starter this late in the season should be taken. Gallman could be a workload-dependent RB2 the rest of the way with the potential to plunge in for a goal-line score enhancing his value.
