3. RB David Montgomery has 100-plus receiving yards

Bears rookie running back Khalil Herbert has been a pleasant surprise for Matt Nagy’s club this season. The sixth-round selection from Virginia Tech logged only four carries for 13 yards in the Monday night loss at Pittsburgh. But he’s impressed this year for the most part. He leads the team with 85 carries and ranks second on the club with 364 yards on the ground.

David Montgomery missed four games and returned to action against the Steelers in Week 9. He ran for 100-plus yards twice in the team’s four contests. He has three fewer carries than Herbert (82) but still leads the Bears with 372 yards on the ground (372).

Nagy’s team hasn’t gotten a lot from its running backs in terms of the passing game. Damien Williams leads all players at his position on the team with 11 receptions. Herbert has nine catches for 44 yards while Montgomery has eight grabs for 66 yards.

Given the fact that the Bears will be facing the worst pass defense in the league, Fields could pick and probe Baltimore underneath and set up his long throws to Darnell Mooney, Allen Robinson and the wide receivers. So it could be a busy day for Montgomery, who totaled 54 receptions in 2020.
