Bold Prediction #1: Consider two Arizona Cardinals running backs

With Chase Edmonds on injured reserve this week, James Conner is one of the biggest must starts in the league. He’s already leading the league in rushing touchdowns, but now he gets to add more yards to his resumé. Conner has been one of the biggest surprises this season in terms of fantasy, and now it looks like he could be very important in the run towards the playoffs.

The Cardinals have been a very good team when it comes to quality outputs from two running backs. It’s one thing when it’s Edmonds and Conner in the backfield. How will that work when it’s Conner and Eno Benjamin in the backfield?

Benjamin watched as Conner was on the field for 81% of snaps. That is not sustainable for a player like Conner. While it won’t be 50-50 anytime soon, Benjamin will earn himself a higher percentage of the snap shares. That should start this week against the Seattle Seahawks defense that’s been terrible against the run. The Hawks defense has allowed almost 31 points per game to the running back position. That leaves a lot of room for two running backs to thrive.

There’s also the possibility that Kyler Murray will return this week. That could open up big holes for both Cardinals’ running backs. The threat of a fully healthy Murray puts the Seahawks defense on its heels.
