2021 NFL power rankings, Week 12: Bills blasted, Titans tamed
The Niners were coming off an impressive 31-10 victory over the Rams on Monday night. Kyle Shanahan’s club traveled cross country on a short week to take on the improving Jaguars.
Wide receiver Deebo Samuel was San Francisco’s leading rusher with 79 yards on eight carries and the team wound up with 171 yards on the ground. The 49ers allowed just 200 total yards and sacked Jaguars’ rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence three times.
This has been one of the more inconsistent teams in the league and hard to get a gauge on. The Broncos have dropped five of their last seven contests following a 3-0 start. Recently, Vic Fangio’s team went to Dallas and handed the Cowboys a 14-point loss.
Seven days later at home, the Broncos were overrun by the Eagles, 30-13. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has been erratic but rookie running back Javonte Williams has opened some eyes.
The team was humbled last Sunday at Foxborough. Now the Browns hosted a Lions’ team still looking for its first victory of the season. Running back Nick Chubb was back for Kevin Stefanski’s team.
That was key as hurting quarterback Baker Mayfield barely completed 50 percent of his passes and served up a pair of interceptions. But he did throw a TD pass to Chubb, who touched the ball 24 times and finished with 144 yards from scrimmage.
