28. Russ Grimm

Ah, the hogs. What a delightfully odd incarnation that was. Not so much the offensive lineman themselves, but the grown men who would dedicate themselves to dressing in women’s clothing and putting on pig noses- that is next level fandom. Enough about that, though, let’s talk about one of the best lineman in the history of the Washington Football Team.

Washington had John Riggins throughout the 1980s, who built a Hall of Fame career in his own right- it wouldn’t have been possible if not for Russ Grimm. Grimm was a four-time Pro Bowl selection and three-time All-Pro throughout the decade. All of his Pro Bowl appearances were from 1983-1986, and his All-Pro appearances came consecutively from 1983-85. In other words, Grimm was at his best when Washington was at their best.

He was the lead blocker on the left side of the offensive line, and Riggins found much success running behind him throughout his career. He is arguably the best offensive lineman in Washington’s history, which is saying something because he played alongside some other great ones. Grimm helped Washington win three Super Bowls throughout the course of the decade. He is a member of the 1980s All-Decade team and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010.
