College football upset picks Week 12, No. 3. Oregon

Rank: 11 | Opponent: vs. Oregon State | Time: Saturday, Nov. 27, 3:30 p.m. ET

Oregon had it in its hands. All they had to do was beat Utah, beat Oregon State, then win the Pac 12 Championship Game. The Ducks just didn’t show up last week against the Utes, and now the College Football Playoff dream is dead for them. They’d need a miracle, and that entire team knows that. It’s not the best mentality to have, going into a rivalry game.

Oregon State has been inconsistent this season, losing to two of the bottom dwellers of the conference in Colorado and Cal, but they had a huge win against Arizona State last week to revitalize their season. They have all the momentum going into this matchup, and they have a win against the very same Utah team that destroyed Oregon last week.

Oregon State won this game last season, so the Ducks aren’t going to overlook this matchup. However, this is the entire season for the Beavers. If they win this game, the season is a success. If they don’t, it’s kind of a disappointment. That’s a lot of pressure, and some players thrive off that kind of pressure.

Oregon State has been known to get up for the good opponents and play down to the weak ones. Oregon is undoubtedly a good opponent, so they are getting their A-game. It’s going to lead to a barn burner on the field, and Oregon State will squeak out another huge win, further putting a stake into Oregon’s chances at anything relevant in the postseason.
