3. Green Bay’s secondary will give up 300+ passing yards

Kirk Cousins threw for 341 yards against the Packers’ secondary last week and things won’t go any better against Matthew Stafford this week. Los Angeles’ relatively new signal-caller will comfortably eclipse the 300-yard mark through the air as long as this game stays close.

Stafford’s elite arm strength really allows the Rams to stretch the field vertically. That’s bad news for a Green Bay secondary that struggles to defend the deep third. Neither Adrian Amos or Darnell Savage is going to be able to win those deep battles on a consistent basis against Los Angeles’ talented receiving corps.

Instead, the priority must be for Green Bay’s defense to find a way to force turnovers. The Rams are going to rack up plenty of yards. The Packers might as well take some risks to see if they can force Stafford into a few errant throws that turn into interceptions.

When all is said and done the Green Bay secondary will yield 300+ passing yards again. If they can’t force Stafford into a couple of turnovers they’re going to get lit up in terms of points as well.
