9. Melvin Gordon and 8. Javonte Williams – Denver Broncos

Let’s just put the Broncos running backs into one post. They are both going to have big weeks against the Los Angeles Chargers defensive front. They can split the 26 points per game the Chargers allow on average every week to the running back position. We’ve seen in previous weeks both Gordon and Williams having successful weeks. Williams has four weeks with double-digit points in PPR, and Gordon has six weeks with double-digit points. In three of those weeks, Gordon and Williams both had at least 10 points.

The Broncos should go with a heavy run game against the Chargers. They want to keep the ball away from Justin Herbert. He’s been getting hot lately, so it’s in the Broncos’ best interest to play keep away. The Chargers’ defense is not good enough to stop the run even when they know it’s coming. Williams and Gordon have a chance to both score a touchdown.

7. Jeremy McNichols – Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans offense has been messy since Henry’s injury. Nobody has been able to really take the job, and everyone has been mediocre at best. This week, the Titans cut Adrian Peterson, essentially ending his legendary career. Many ran to the waiver wire to pick him up, but that was always a long shot at best. This week, Jeremy McNichols will return from injury.

The Patriots’ defense isn’t terrible against running backs. They have only allowed two rushing touchdowns to the position this season, but that’s not the whole story. The Patriots have been terrible at stopping running backs from catching the ball. They’ve allowed 74 receptions to the position, the third-worst in the league. The 682 yards allowed in the air is the second-worst in the league. McNichols is the pass-catching back in the Titans backfield. Expect him to have a respectable week in PPR leagues.
