2. Top fantasy football pickups for Week 13 – New England Patriots WR Kendrick Bourne

Let’s go from one former 49ers’ player to another with a spotlight on New England Patriots’ wide receiver Kendrick Bourne. Mac Jones has developed a clear rapport with Bourne, who caught five passes for 61 yards and a pair of touchdowns in New England’s blowout win over the Tennessee Titans.

This isn’t the first time we’ve discussed Bourne, who has registered at least four receptions in seven games this season to offer a safe PPR floor. The big change for Bourne appears to be that Jones is looking his way more in the red zone, which would add the potential for more touchdowns to increase Bourne’s ceiling.

Having a secure role in the Patriots’ passing attack is nice for Bourne, who admittedly offers more value in PPR leagues at the moment. Rostered in just 22 percent of Yahoo leagues, Bourne is a decent speculative play for teams in need of depth at wide receiver.

The troublesome aspect with Bourne is that New England is on bye in Week 14, which hurts fantasy owners who need help at their flex spot in the last week of their regular season. Grabbing Bourne is more of a longer-term push since his role could be expanding at just the right time.
