3. Top fantasy football pickups for Week 13 – Buffalo Bills RB Matt Breida

Finding creative ways to buy into elite offenses is one of the secrets to success in fantasy football. The Buffalo Bills’ offense is one of the NFL’s most dynamic and it appears to be breaking in a new running back with Matt Breida becoming more of a factor in the team’s game plan over the past few weeks.

You may remember Breida from his days as the starting running back in San Francisco that helped the 49ers reach the Super Bowl in 2019. Breida was traded after that season to Miami, where he had a subpar season with the Dolphins before landing in Buffalo last March.

A healthy scratch through nine weeks, Breida was activated for the first time in Week 10 and has had a complementary role in the Bills’ backfield ever since. Buffalo hasn’t been satisfied with its running backs all year and decided to make Zack Moss a healthy scratch last week in favor of Breida, who split time with Devin Singletary in the Bills’ win over the Saints.

This is a speculative play on Breida, who is rostered in only 23 percent of Yahoo leagues, but he has a real chance to steal snaps in this backfield since both Moss and Singletary have been uninspiring this season. Breida is a bench stash right now but could pay big dividends if he manages to usurp the starting role for Buffalo down the stretch.
