Running Backs

Leonard Fournette, Tampa Bay Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons-$7,700

Fournette had a huge game in Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts, scoring five total touchdowns (four rushing) with 100 rushing yards and 131 total yards (seven catches for 31 yards). A soft matchup is coming in Week 13.

The Atlanta Falcons enter Week 13 allowing the seventh-most fantasy points to running backs (FanDuel, Yahoo! 0.5-point PPR). That includes 145 total yards per game  and averae of one total touchdown per game to the position. Fournett had 76 total yards in 15 touches against them back in Week 2, but he has since become Tampa Bay’s dominant back.

A full repeat of Week 12 is obviously not coming. But Fournette at less than $8,000 is a steal on FanDuel this week.

Jamaal Williams, Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings-$6,500

After D’Andre Swift left Detroit’s Thanksgiving Day loss to the Chicago Bears, Williams became the Lions’ lead back and had 83 total yards on 20 touches (five catches). Swift is all but sure to miss Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, lining up Williams for a workhorse role in a good matchup.

The Vikings may finally get defensive tackle Michael Pierce back, but it’s not as if they’re run defense has been good with or mostly without him this year. They are a bottom-10 defense in fantasy points allowed to running backs, while allowing 4.8 yards per carry (tied for worst in the league).

Williams is lined up for 20-25 touches over a full game on Sunday, with 80-100 total yards and a coin-flip chance he scores as easy follows. I couldn’t turn down the value here.
