Wide Receivers

Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins vs. New York Giants-$6,900

Waddle had his first career 100-yard game Week 12 against the Carolina Panthers, with nine catches (on 10 targets) for 137 yards and a touchdown. He has at least eight targets in six of the last seven games, with over 60 yards in six of those games (not a perfect overlap).

It’s a middle of the road matchup for Waddle in Week 13 against the New York Giants. But he and Tua Tagovailoa have something going, and the return of any other Dolphins’ wide receivers seems unlikely to derail it. The rookie out of Alabama combines floor and celing nicely this week, at a bargain rate.

Brandin Cooks, Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts-$6,700

Cooks didn’t do much more than catch a touchdown in Week 12 against the New York Jets (three catches for 45 yards). But it was better than Week 11 (two catches for 18 yards), and a fuller rebound is lined up in Week 13.

The Indianapolis Colts are in the bottom-10 of the league in fantasy points allowed to wide recevers, spurred by allowing the fifth-most total targets (236, the fifth-most catches (151) and the most touchdowns (17) to the position. Back in Week 6, Cooks had nine catches for 89 yards (on 13 targets) against them.

Part of Cooks’ appeal in DFS/FanDuel is his consistently cheap price relative to his role and potential. On that note, as Houston likely chases a game script this week, he’s my No. 3 wide receiver here.

Hunter Renfrow, Las Vegas Raiders vs. Washington Football Team-$6,400

Renfrow had a nice game on Thanksgiving Day agains the Dallas Cowboys, with eight receptions (on nine targets) for 134 yards. The knee injury to tight Darren Waller helped him, but Waller was healthy before and Renfrow has at least eight targets in six of the last eight games overall.

In Week 13 the Raiders get a Washington Football Team that’s still a bottom-tier fantasy defense agaisnt wide receivers (and across the board, truly). As no worse than Derek Carr’s No. 2 target, Renfrow is lined up to burn another NFC East secondary on Sunday.
