2. NFL teams on upset alert in Week 13 – Buffalo Bills

Week 12 was a huge sigh of relief for the Bills, who put together their best effort in weeks with a dominant win over the New Orleans Saints on Thanksgiving. Buffalo took advantage of a short-handed Saints’ team in a get-right spot as Josh Allen threw for four touchdown passes in the 31-6 victory.

The win helped the Bills improve to 7-4 on the season but they now find themselves a half-game behind the New England Patriots in the AFC East. The two teams are set to meet on Monday night for the first time in 2021 with FanDuel establishing Buffalo as three-point favorites at home.

This spot is dangerous for a Bills’ team that has alternated wins and losses since Week 6, a sign of inconsistency that Patriots’ coach Bill Belichick will look to take advantage of. New England has surged into first place on the strength of six straight victories keyed by an excellent defense and strong running game to take pressure off of rookie quarterback Mac Jones.

Those ingredients will play well on a cold night in Buffalo, making this a stiff test for a Bills’ team that isn’t necessarily built to thrive in the elements. The pressure of a first-place game is also in the mix here so Buffalo will need to be on its game to avoid getting tripped up by New England in a must-win spot.
