NFL Week 13 2021: 3 teams on upset alert this week
The Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys are among the NFL teams that need to be on upset alert in Week 13.
The Thanksgiving holiday was a good one for NFL contenders, who largely took care of business against the league’s also-rans. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers survived a scare against the Indianapolis Colts, which helped them maintain their NFC South lead, while the only notable upset victim from a week ago was the Los Angeles Chargers.
The NFL’s calendar has flipped to December and it makes each week fraught with more danger for contenders that need wins to stay in the playoff hunt. Let’s take a look at three more teams that need to try and avoid upsets this week, with all odds referenced in this story provided courtesy of the FanDuel Sportsbook.
3. NFL teams on upset alert in Week 13 – Miami Dolphins
Perhaps one of the bigger surprises of the season has been the revival of the Dolphins. Left for dead after a 1-7 start, Miami has won four straight games to climb back into the AFC’s Wild Card race, including Sunday’s 33-10 blowout over the Carolina Panthers.
An improved defensive effort has been key to the Dolphins’ turnaround and they have also been aided by solid quarterback play from Tua Tagovailoa. The oddsmakers have bought in on Miami as well, establishing them as three-point favorites at home against the New York Giants.
This game could be tricky since the Giants have played a better brand of football lately, winning three of their past five games thanks to some tremendous defensive improvement. New York is also fighting to keep its own playoff hopes alive so Miami has to be careful not to overlook the Giants in this spot.
