4. Top fantasy football pickups for Week 14 – Atlanta Falcons WR Russell Gage

We told you guys all about Russell Gage last week when he caught six passes for 62 yards and a touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Gage was rostered in just 17 percent of Yahoo leagues at that point and he wasn’t added in nearly enough leagues, costing those of you late to the party a massive Week 13 performance.

Matt Ryan made Gage his top target against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, looking Gage’s way 12 times against the Buccaneers’ burnable secondary. The end result was Gage’s best line of the season as he caught 11 passes for 130 yards in a game the Falcons lost 30-17.

Those kinds of performances are certainly possible for Gage going forward since Atlanta is a bad team that will be trailing often, leading to plenty of opportunities for Ryan to throw passes to his depleted receiving corps. Gage has clearly entered the Circle of Trust for Ryan, who has targeted Gage at least seven times in four of his past five games.

Gage’s rostered percentage only jumped to 29 percent after Week 13 so there is still an opportunity for plenty of you to hop on board the bandwagon. This is likely the last call for Gage, who should be a WR3 thanks to his volume even against a strong Carolina Panthers’ defense in Week 14.
