2. NFL teams on upset alert in Week 14 – Dallas Cowboys

The NFC East appeared set to run through Dallas for a while before recent struggles from the Cowboys opened the door for potential challengers. Dallas has lost three of its past five games, including a Thanksgiving Day defeat against the Las Vegas Raiders, before righting the ship with a beatdown of the New Orleans Saints last Thursday.

COVID issues and injuries have certainly hurt the Cowboys, who now appear destined to finish no higher than fourth in the NFC. The schedule is also loaded with division games for Dallas, which still has four NFC East matchups to play in the last five weeks of the season, including Sunday’s trip to Washington.

The Football Team has been one of the hottest teams in football, surging into a Wild Card spot on the strength of a well-timed four-game winning streak. Taylor Heinicke has scored wins over Tom Brady and Russell Wilson in the process, proving that Washington isn’t scared of taking on anyone at this point.

Dallas will have extra rest heading into this game, which helps explain why FanDuel has set the Cowboys as four-point favorites on the road. Winning any divisional game on the road is tricky, however, and if Dallas puts forth anything less than its best effort it shouldn’t come as a shock if Washington finds a way to steal this game.
