Tennessee Titans: Super Bowl XXXIV vs. St. Louis Rams

Speaking of Super Bowl XXXIV, the Titans were literally one yard away from taking the game to overtime, which would have been the first Super Bowl to ever go into overtime.

Both teams’ offenses were slow in the first half. The Rams led 9-0 at the end of the second quarter, but both teams found life in the second half. Torry Holt caught a touchdown from Kurt Warner from nine yards out to give the Rams a 16-0. Eddie George answered with a rushing touchdown, but the Titans failed a two-point conversion attempt, so the score remained 16-6. George scored again, and the Titans added a field goal later on to tie the game at 16.

A 73 yard touchdown from Warner to Issac Bruce turned out to be the deciding factor in the game. The Titans got the ball back and were driving. On the final play of the game, Steve McNair hit Kevin Dyson over the middle. Dyson was hit and tackled by linebacker Mike Jones, who brought the receiver down one yard shy of the end zone, securing the win for St. Louis. The Titans were oh so close to tying the game, and potentially winning the Super Bowl.
