The Chiefs are healthy

The Chiefs’ 2020 season could have ended entirely differently if it were not for the abundance of injuries the Chiefs took into the Super Bowl. Missing almost every starting linemen, the Kansas City roster was depleted and it showed.

In the offseason, Chiefs’ general manager Brett Veach made an effort to not only rebuild the offensive line but also provide depth at that position. Kansas City has already utilized that depth at the beginning of the season when the planned starting right guard, Kyle Long, went down in training camp. He was replaced by sixth-round rookie Trey Smith, who has played at a Pro Bowl level in his first season.

Now as winter football is in full swing, the Chiefs have been able to use that depth to stay healthy, win games, and keep a full roster going into the playoffs. That keeps Andy Reid and Steve Spagnuolo’s playbook wide open for the playoffs and spells trouble for all opposing teams.
