3. Top Week 15 fantasy football pickups – Carolina Panthers WR Robby Anderson

Few wide receivers who haven’t suffered injuries have been more disappointing for fantasy owners than Robby Anderson. A popular sleeper off of his first 1,000-yard season in 2020, Anderson has been dropped en masse after racking up just 29 catches for 288 yards and three touchdowns over 12 games.

Anderson had a breakout performance in Week 14, catching seven passes for 84 yards and a touchdown to post his most productive day of the season. The most encouraging thing for Anderson in this game is the fact he was targeted 12 times on the day, which is also a season-high for the speedy wideout.

This kind of performance does come with outlier risk for Anderson, who hadn’t been targeted more than six times in a game since Week 7. Owners in need of flex help could do worse than Anderson, who has an interesting matchup against the Buffalo Bills in Week 15.

The Buffalo secondary isn’t as stout as it was earlier in the season after losing Tre’Davious White to a season-ending injury, which could make them more vulnerable to pass-catchers with some speed like Anderson. Rostered in just 35 percent of Yahoo leagues, Anderson is worth a pickup as a flex play with the hopes he connects with either Cam Newton or P.J. Walker on a long touchdown, also known as the DeSean Jackson strategy.
