3 upcoming free agents the Bears should start thinking about as part of the rebuild

Charvarius Ward, cornerback
On a positive note, rookie Thomas Graham Jr. was impressive in his first NFL start on Monday night against the Vikings. Graham recorded seven tackles and three passes defended, and he only allowed ten passing yards against the explosive Vikings’ offense.
It was a welcome sign for the Bears, who have allowed a passer rating of 104.5 to opposing quarterbacks this season (second-highest in the NFL).
This offseason, the Bears’ front office should look for a young cornerback to pair with Graham, but that will be difficult without a first-round pick.
One interesting option is free agent Charvarius Ward. Ward has played well for the Chiefs this season. He has been targeted 56 times allowing a completion percentage of 46.4% and a quarterback rating of 76.4. At age 25, he can be a building block for the defense.
The Chiefs are projected to have around $31 million in cap space this offseason, according to Spotrac. However, left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. will command a large deal, and the Chiefs only have 28 players under contract. So, the Chiefs may not be able to retain Ward.
The Bears could be the perfect landing spot for him.
