5. Damien Harris – New England Patriots

The New England Patriots showed what they could do with the running game against the Bills the last time they played. They let Mac Jones throw three passes the entire game. Damien Harris was incredible in this game. He ran the ball 10 times for 111 yards and a 60+ yard touchdown.

The Patriots are saying that the game plan is going to be different this time around, but it’s not like Harris was getting the same volume of carries as Rhamondre Stevenson. He got 24 carries in the game, a number that is completely unsustainable. Harris, on the other hand, has been able to do the most with not a ton of workload. Harris does have an issue with finishing games healthy, but he’s worth a look at the very least.

4. Jamaal Williams – Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions running game hasn’t looked the same since D’Andre Swift went out with an injury, but Jamaal Williams is doing the best he can with what he’s been given. He had 72 yards last week in the Lions surprise win against the Arizona Cardinals. He’s clearly the back that the Lions trust, and now he’s preparing for an Atlanta Falcons defense that’s allowed three touchdowns in the past two weeks.

Here’s a wrench in the ole predictions. D’Andre Swift could be returning this week. The reports say he’s not even close to fully healthy, but he’s trying to make a comeback. That sounds like a great time for the Lions to hold him out this week and let Williams work. The Falcons are a great matchup, but if Swift plays this is too important a week to take a chance like this. If he doesn’t, Williams could be the back that wins you the week.
