9. Sony Michel – Los Angeles Rams

Sony Michel had his coming-out party finally for the Los Angeles Rams this week. Since he’s been traded from the New England Patriots, Michel has been largely underwhelming. Prior to the Rams’ bye week in Week 10, Michel had as many games with a negative fantasy school as he did games with double digits in standard-scoring leagues.

Michel is proving to be the top running back in LA this month. He’s had two games with over 18 points in December. He’s going into the home stretch of the playoffs taking the top running back spot from Darrell Henderson Jr. Michel is facing the Baltimore Ravens this week, who have been middle of the pack defensively against the run. Lamar Jackson might miss another week, and the Ravens might have issues with controlling the ball. How often can the backups in Baltimore keep them afloat? This Rams defense should give Michel and the offense good field position.

8. Josh Jacobs – Las Vegas Raiders

Josh Jacobs was really good last week for a Las Vegas Raiders team that is surprisingly still alive in the playoff race. In the NFC, there are five clinched playoff spots. In the AFC, there is one. The Raiders win this week, and they should be in a playoff spot. They know they need to ride the running game to any possible playoff race, and that is especially true with their matchup this week.

The Raiders are taking on the Indianapolis Colts this week. Obviously, Taylor on the other side might be motivation for Josh Jacobs to have a big week. The Colts do have a good rushing defense but throw everything out the window when there is a playoff spot on the line. It all comes down to the offensive line. If the Raiders can get any blocking at all, Jacobs will have a good game. If not, well, then it spells trouble.
