2. De’Aaron Fox

De’Aaron Fox to the Knicks has been a rumor for a long time. Who knows if there is actually smoke to this fire, but the situation makes sense. The Kings are once again sellers after another mess of a season, and it might be time to trade away their 24-year-old star. The Knicks are looking for a star to build around, and they have some assets to make a deal work. Do they have enough to make the Kings lose the player they thought they would build around?

Fox is the true star that could either turn into a superstar in New York or crumble under the pressure. However, it’s worth the gamble for the Knicks. His 20 points per game would be a welcomed addition to a team averaging less than 105 points per game. They are 27th in scoring, which is now what you want from the team in the premier city in North America.

The problem is that the Knicks players on the roster right now have a propensity to get cold. In normal times, they would turn to Derrick Rose to revitalize the team from the bench, but he’s hurt for a few more weeks. Fox has zero games with less than 10 points. He has five games this season where he had 30+ points. His floor is higher than most Knicks players, and his ceiling keeps rising.

If the Knicks can put Fox into the starting lineup, it would lift every unit of this team. His scoring puts teams on edge on the defensive side. He doesn’t do much to help the Knicks defense, but the team can’t get worse when it comes to giving up threes. Maybe Tom Thibideau can get a better defensive performance from Fox.
