The Detroit Pistons are another team looking to sell the farm before the February 10th trade deadline. Jerami Grant is their most intriguing trade piece. This one might be a little more difficult for the Knicks because it sounds like just about every playoff contender is calling the Pistons to see what Grant will cost them. He’s signed through next season, so there is some cost certainty there.

However, Grant would be a great fit for this Knicks team. The Pistons are building around number-one overall pick Cade Cunningham, and he makes Grant expendable. Grant is the one guarantee to get moved this season. He is hurt right now, which complicates things. He won’t come right into the Knicks locker room and dominate. He could have a long-term impact on the team.

Grant is a reliable option offensively and defensively. That would be something that interests Thibideau and the Knicks. His defensive abilities would intrigue this team, and it could help with their problems on both sides of the court. Grant plays like a star on some nights, and the Knicks could use a guy who can turn it on when the team needs him.

Grant needs to get healthy before he can help the Knicks, but this would be a great move for the Knicks to make if they anticipate going on a run later this season.
