4. Indianapolis Colts

The Colts have a keeper at wide receiver in Michael Pittman, but other than that there are question marks. T.Y. Hilton is slated to be a free agent again this offseason, and the other receivers (Zach Pascal, Ashton Dulin, Parris Campbell) are just complementary pieces–Pascal is also headed for free agency.

As a testament to the work general manager Chris Ballard has done, the Colts seem to have a ton of salary cap space every year. It is no different in 2022 ($53.38 million, seventh-most in the league right now, according to Over The Cap).

Ridley has shown he can be a legit No. 1 wide receiver in the league. Setting aside his off the field situation, as much as it may even be appropriate to do that, he may simply be tired of the losing in Atlanta and in need of a change of scenery.

The Colts are lined up to keep being an annual playoff contender. But they do have a ceiling that is far below being a legit Super Bowl contender. Adding Ridley would raise that ceiling for at least 2022, and add a high-end weapon for Carson Wentz.
