5 teams who could trade for Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley this offseason
1. Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers remain maddening at times (see loss to the Houston Texans in Week 16), but they are annually one of the most talented teams in the league. Right now, they’ve got a window to add pieces and really compete while Justin Herbert is on his rookie contract.
Looking to free agency, the Chargers might lose wide receiver, Mike Williams. It’s not that they won’t be able to make him a good offer, with the second-most cap space in the league right now ($69.75 million, according to Over The Cap). It’s true that they might be done with his ups and downs, and ready to let him go.
Keenan Allen is a good starting point for the Chargers at wide receiver, even as he gets older, and young players Josh Palmer and Jalen Guyton might be ready for bigger roles in 2022.
Even if the Chargers end up bringing Williams back, they will have room to make an addition at wide receiver. If they want to legitimately compete with or usurp the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West, and become a top team in the AFC, collecting weapons remains an order. Parting with multiple draft picks in a trade for Ridley is definitely on the radar now.
