2022 NFL mock draft: Steelers replace Big Ben, Browns take Ohio State WR
Browns fans are elated by getting a stud Ohio State prospect, Garrett Wilson
This is like a fever dream for the Dawg Pound. They always tend to favor former Buckeyes but the match is perfect. With OBJ gone, a potential quarterback change, and Jarvis Landry also possibly out, the Browns get their obvious WR1 for the offense with Wilson, an elite player in all facets of the position.
Ravens reinforce the defensive front by selecting DeMarvin Leal
For years, we’ve seen Baltimore dominate up front with blitzes but, also, with the ability to create a push from the interior. That has gone away somewhat as of late, but they remedy that by taking Leal. The mammoth man out of Texas A&M has top-tier physical tools that should translate to an immediate impact.
Travon Walker is the sleeper the Eagles have been waiting for
(Pick via Dolphins) – Some people might not put Travon Walker this high in a 2022 NFL mock draft (and he might not leave Georgia). However, his blend of size and explosiveness off the edge are too enticing for me to ignore. And Philadelphia needs to get all the reinforcements they can on defense with their first of three picks in the first round.
Eagles back on the clock and address the secondary with Ahmad ‘Sauce’ Gardner
(Pick via Colts) – Gardner has been on the radar all year as one of the absolute stars of the Cincinnati Bearcats defense. He kept up well with the Alabama athletes in the Cotton Bowl, proving he’s ready for NFL talent. The Eagles have Darius Slay but are sorely lacking in terms of long-term depth around Slay.
Chargers find a running mate for Joey Bosa by selecting Jermaine Johnson
Johnson was actually at Georgia but transferred to FSU to see the field more and took full advantage of that opportunity. With Melvin Ingram long gone from the Bolts, Bosa needs help opposite him on the edge, which the Seminole can provide.
Saints find their QB of the future with Kenny Pickett
As mentioned, this quarterback class isn’t something to write home about. Someone like Kenny Pickett, though, should be intriguing, especially to Sean Payton and the Saints. The Pitt product’s ability to accurately attack all levels should fit exactly what’s needed in New Orleans.
