Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith wants the Alabama Crimson Tide to keep running the ball.

Alabama fans and alum were anxiously watching the 2022 National Championship Game, as the Crimson Tide took on the Georgia Bulldogs. It was a tightly contested game in the first half, as Alabama held a 9-6 lead heading into the locker room at Lucas Oil Stadium.

But in the third quarter, head coach Nick Saban went ahead with the always successful plan of feeding the ball to running back Brian Robinson Jr. Philadelphia Eagles rookie and former Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith was all for this plan, and wanted to see it continue, based off his all-caps tweet.

Smith was not the only one to notice this and point it out on Twitter. The official account of Alabama Athletics posted a photo of Robinson with the caption “B Rob Time!”

That drive lasted 17 plays, and quarterback Bryce Young handed the ball off to Robinson seven times, and picked up 35 yards on the ground. Unfortunately for Alabama, they were unable to get in the end zone, and kicker Will Reichard’s 48-yard field goal attempt was blocked by Georgia’s Jalen Carter. So, the Crimson Tide ended up with zero points on the board.

Things only got worse for the Tide, as Georgia scored a touchdown on the ensuing drive to take a 13-9 lead.
