15. BYU Cougars

What could have been a great BYU season ended up simply a good one. The Cougars ended the year with a 31-28 loss to UAB in the Independence bowl. It was a 10 win season that probably should have been an 11 or 12 win season.

14. Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns

Louisiana ended the season on a high note as it defeated Marshall in the New Orleans Bowl. The Ragin’ Cajuns finished the season with 13 wins and only had one blemish on their record. That should be good enough for a top-15 finish.

13. Pitt Panthers

It’s hard to punish Pitt for its loss in the Peach Bowl. Heisman finalist Kenny Pickett sat the game out as he prepared for the upcoming NFL Draft. The Panthers had a chance to win late before a late swing of fortune. It’s hard to see the ACC Champions falling much lower than this.

12. Utah Utes

Utah had an amazing season that ended with a tough defeat in the Rose Bow. It was quite the 48-45 loss for the Pac-12 Champions. They were the final shot at a win for the conference during bowl season. Unfortunately, the state of the conference probably puts them just outside the Top 10.

11. Ole Miss Rebels

Ole Miss caught a great deal of bad luck as it lost Matt Corral to injury in the Sugar Bow. Had their star signal caller not been hurt, it’s probably a much different result against Baylor rather than the 21-7 final it was.
