20. Oregon Ducks

The Ducks season ended with hardly a quack as they were nothing more than cannon fodder for Oklahoma in the Alamo Bowl. At one time the cream of the Pac-12 on the year, Oregon fizzled out much like the rest of a conference that didn’t pick up a win during the bowl season.

19. Houston Cougars

The Cougars came up with a big win over Auburn in the Birmingham Bowl. It was an impressive win for Houston, which finishes the season with 12 wins and most likely a spot in the top 20 of the rankings.

18. NC State Wolfpack

NC State’s spot in the rankings is going to be a contentious one. They didn’t play in the Holiday Bowl as a result of COVID, which is going to make their final ranking one to watch for. The easiest answer is no movement.

17. Clemson Tigers

A season that didn’t go as expected did end with a bowl win for Clemson. It could have been a disastrous year, instead the Tigers earned a win over Iowa State in the Cheez-It Bowl and probably a finish in the teens.

16. Wake Forest Demon Deacons

A great year for the Demon Deacons ended with a blowout win over Rutgers in the Gator Bowl. Wake Forest made every Saturday exciting with the way it could roll up points and it went out the same way.
