5 candidates the Giants have to interview for head coach
Brian Daboll could be a perfect fit for the Giants and Daniel Jones
Rightfully so, Brian Daboll has been an attractive NFL head coaching candidate over the past couple of years with his résumé most notably consisting of the work that he’s done in Buffalo with the design of the offense around Josh Allen and the development of the quarterback that has come along with that as well.
While the jury may still be out on Daniel Jones as the long-term answer for New York at quarterback, it’s honestly hard to assess what we’ve seen with poor coaching, a bad offensive line, and injuries hampering any progress.
Daboll has proven he has the ability to scheme an offense that puts a quarterback in the best position to succeed with the Bills. Maybe he could do the same for Jones and the Giants and get that side of the ball back on track.
Giants could take advantage of Dolphins mistake and go after Brian Flores
Whenever the Dolphins fired Brian Flores on Black Monday, it was one of the biggest shocks throughout the league. Yes, Miami missed the playoffs for the second-straight year, but this was still a team many viewed as on the rise and that had back-to-back winning seasons under Flores’ watch.
Though the Giants just misfired on a former Patriots assistant in Judge, perhaps they would look to try again with Flores. After all, it’s not often that a head coach is fired after doing a job that, in terms of results, most people deemed as a positive tenure.
Flores could work with Patrick Graham (if he were retained) to get the New York defense really humming at a high level as they keep adding talent and, with the right offensive coordinator and staff hires, potentially get Big Blue back on a positive trajectory after Judge got the train off the tracks.
