5 NFL players who could dominate the playoffs
By Nick Villano
4. Cooper Kupp — Los Angeles Rams
Cooper Kupp is the breakout player of this season. He has a real chance to win the Offensive Player of the Year award after his ridiculous season at the wide receiver position. He’s dominated in every game this season besides one. It doesn’t matter who the matchup is, Kupp is able to produce on the highest level. He showed that by leading the league in receptions, yards, and receiving touchdowns; the wide receiver Triple Crown.
Kupp has played in two different playoff games in his career. He missed the Rams’ run to the Super Bowl during the 2018 season because he ended up tearing his ACL during the regular season. The first game came in his rookie season, and he had eight catches for 69 yards and a touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons. Last season, he had four catches for 78 yards while Jared Goff was trying his hardest to prove he was still a starting quarterback in this league.
This season, Kupp actually has an NFL-level quarterback and he’s been dominant thanks to it. When it comes to the playoffs, the Rams aren’t exactly the favorites coming into the NFC bracket. They were one of the favorites going into the season, but there have been some inconsistencies from week to week. They are still a team that won its division thanks to a Cardinals loss in Week 18, and now that the playoffs have started, anything is possible.
If the Rams are going to make noise in the postseason, it will be on the shoulders of Cooper Kupp. He’s been by far the best player at his position, a position that tends to have a new “best” every season. The Rams want to make it to the Super Bowl. They have stars at many positions, but Kupp is the most important player when it comes to carrying the team.
