5. Week 11 College Basketball Rankings: Kansas Jayhawks (6)

  • Record: 14-2 (3-1 in Big 12)
  • Last Week: Won 62-61 vs. Iowa State, Won 85-59 vs. West Virginia
  • This Week: At Oklahoma 1/18, At Kansas State 1/22

This week epitomized why the Jayhawks are a true national title threat. In a pair of home games, Kansas grinded out a win against a very good Iowa State team before throttling a capable West Virginia unit on Saturday, giving plenty of confidence they can navigate this week’s road trip to Oklahoma and Kansas State with ease.

4. Week 11 College Basketball Rankings: Purdue Boilermakers (4)

  • Record: 14-2 (3-2 in Big Ten)
  • Last Week: Matchup vs. Michigan postponed, Won 92-65 vs. Nebraska
  • This Week: At Illinois 1/17, At Indiana 1/20, Vs. Northwestern 1/23

Losing the Michigan game meant Purdue only had to pummel Nebraska this week, which they did to maintain their place in the rankings. A three-game week with tough trips to Illinois and Indiana will say a lot about the Boilermakers’ upside going forward.

3. Week 11 College Basketball Rankings: Arizona Wildcats (10)

  • Record: 14-1 (4-0 in Pac-12)
  • Last Week: Won 76-55 vs. Colorado, Won 82-64 vs. Utah
  • This Week: At Stanford 1/20, At California 1/22

This is a big jump for the Wildcats, who checked in last week’s ranking in 10th place, but taking care of business with ease is important when top teams are getting tripped up on a regular basis. Arizona has just one loss on the season, a four-point defeat at Tennessee in December, and it would be surprising to see a second come this week on a road trip to Stanford and Cal.

2. Week 11 College Basketball Rankings: Auburn Tigers (5)

  • Record: 16-1 (5-0 in SEC)
  • Last Week: Won 81-77 at No. 24 Alabama, Won 80-71 at Ole Miss
  • This Week: Vs. Georgia 1/19, Vs. Kentucky 1/22

The Tigers continue to look like the class of the SEC with two impressive road wins, including a gutty 81-77 triumph at arch-rival Alabama on Tuesday. This week brings a massive showdown with Kentucky at home on Saturday that could further separate Auburn from the rest of the conference if they win.

1. Week 11 College Basketball Rankings: Gonzaga Bulldogs (2)

  • Record: 14-2 (3-0 in WCC)
  • Last Week: Won 110-84 vs. BYU, Won 115-83 vs. Santa Clara
  • This Week: Vs. San Francisco 1/20

The WCC schedule has been inconsistent for Gonzaga, which has only gotten three conference games in due to various COVID issues, but they have won them all. Thursday’s dominant effort against BYU was the most impressive yet and this week brings a rescheduled home date against San Francisco, a monster matchup between two of the conference’s four NCAA Tournament hopefuls.
