MLB: 5 free agents not named Freeman or Correa teams should covet
Clayton Kershaw
It’s hard to imagine Clayton Kershaw with any team other than the Los Angeles Dodgers. Even after an amazing 13-year career, Kershaw wasn’t even made a qualifying offer to play in 2022. If Kershaw wants to continue playing in 2022, it will possibly with another team.
In 2021, Kershaw went 10-8 in 22 games started. He threw 121.2 innings, 144 strikeouts and a 32.7% called strike rate.
While he is older and has a lot of miles on that arm, Kershaw’s stats still reflect that of an arm you want to take a chance on. Whether an opener on a piggy-back start situation or a middle innings guy, Kershaw should be getting some attention from clubs looking for some pitching experience going into the 2022 season.
He should get some one to two year offers loaded with incentives.
