Davante Adams

Davante Adams is going to be the top free agent wide receiver on the market this offseason. Rodgers looking likely to leave town only makes the idea of Adams leaving as well more apparent.

Adams is due a big payday. With talk around 49ers receiver Deebo Samuel suggesting an extension worth $20 million per year, that should be a starting point for Adams. The fact that the Packers haven’t already made him the highest-paid receiver in the game is somewhat insulting.

Granted, the Packers could still hit Adams with the franchise tag. That would grant him that $20 million figure for 2022.

At the same time, Green Bay doesn’t have a lot of cap space to work with and the split with Rodgers could make it all the more clear that a long-term deal with Adams isn’t in the cards.

Maybe Adams will want to stick around despite the playoff disappointment but his options elsewhere will be tough to pass up.
