The Green Bay Packers have officially named their new offensive coordinator, and it is ironically great news for the Chicago Bears.

The start of the NFL coaching carousel had huge effects on the Green Bay Packers. Offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett was named the next head coach of the Denver Broncos. Now they had to name Hackett’s replacement. In the division, the Chicago Bears needed to name their own offensive coordinator under new head coach Matt Eberflus.

Now, the path is now clear for both to fill their positions.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Packers are promoting run game coordinator and offensive line coach Adam Stenavich as their new offensive coordinator. That now paves the way for the Bears to hire Packer passing game coordinator Luke Getsy as their new coordinator.

The signs for Stenavich earning the promotion were clear throughout the week. According to reports, Hackett was trying to bring him over as his offensive coordinator, but the Packers declined his request for an interview. That is now official.

Stenavich had been with the Packers organization since 2019 starting off as an offensive line coach before being promoted to the run game coordinator this past year.

Eberflus, the former defensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts, was named the Bears head coach, and he reportedly made an offer to Getsy to be his offensive coordinator. With Stenavich earning the job in Green Bay, Getsy is expected to head to the Windy City.

Getsy initially joined Green Bay back in 2014 as an offensive quality control coach before being promoted as wide receivers coach in 2016. He returned in 2019 as quarterbacks coach and elevated to passing game coordinator in 2020.

It may have taken a couple of days, but the Packers and Bears have their new offensive coordinators.
