The Green Bay Packers denied the Denver Broncos a chance to interview a potential offensive coordinator option.

The Green Bay Packers‘ season ended much earlier than most anticipated, losing 13-10 to the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round. The team turnover has begun, as offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett was hired to be the new head coach of the Denver Broncos. As for who will replace Hackett on the coaching staff, the Packers may have given a hint who they have in mind.

According to Mike Klis of 9News, the Packers declined the Broncos’ request to interview offensive line coach and run game coordinator Adam Stenavich for their offensive coordinator position.

It will remain to be seen if Stenavich is officially promoted to offensive coordinator. But denying the Broncos’ request does seem like a tell, doesn’t it?

Let’s not forget that the rival Chicago Bears have reportedly already made an offer to quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator Luke Getsy to be the offensive coordinator under new head coach Matt Eberflus.

Stenavich joined the Packers in 2019 as their offensive line coach before being promoted to run game coordinator this past season. Prior to joining Green Bay, Stenavich spent two seasons as the assistant offensive line coach for the San Francisco 49ers (2017-18).

Regardless of who is named offensive coordinator of the Packers, that is the least of the team’s concerns. There is uncertainty as to whether quarterback Aaron Rodgers will return to the team in 2022 or opt to move elsewhere or even retire. Not only that, but star wide receiver Davante Adams is set to become an unrestricted free agent and is reportedly looking to earn an annual salary of $30 million.

This will be quite the offseason for Green Bay. But when it comes to who will replace Hackett as offensive coordinator, Stenavich is a name to keep an eye on.
