The Las Vegas Raiders made the decision to hire Josh McDaniels, but that doesn’t seem to concern many Kansas City Chiefs fans.

Kansas City Chiefs fans seem to be interested in welcoming Josh McDaniels back to the AFC West. It certainly looks like they’re happy the Las Vegas Raiders hired him. McDaniels, who is reportedly leaving the New England Patriots for the Raiders, was one of the best head coaching candidates available this year.

But that doesn’t mean much to the folks in Kansas City. This isn’t the first time the Chiefs will be meeting up with McDaniels on a regular basis.

McDaniels, who has been with the Patriots since 2012, was once the head coach of the Denver Broncos. Now 45 years old, McDaniels led Denver from 2009 to 2010 and was thoroughly unsuccessful. During his time as a head coach, McDaniels only managed to win 11 games and lost 17.

Now it looks like Chiefs fans are more than happy to see he’ll be coaching against their team on a regular basis.

As a whole, McDaniels wasn’t successful during his time with Denver, but he didn’t really do all that poorly against Kansas City. However, at that time, the Chiefs were in a pretty bad spot. Now? Well, they’re arguably the best-run franchise in the NFL.

Of course Kansas City fans are excited about McDaniels making his way back out west.

The Raiders have some interesting pieces that they can build their team with, but it remains to be seen what exactly they will do moving forward. Bringing in a new head coach would present the perfect opportunity to completely overhaul the roster and rebuild if they chose to go down that path.

McDaniels has grown a lot since he was last a head coach. He’s learned a lot over the past decade or so. He’s had plenty of opportunities to learn how to be a better coach.

But, will any of that matter as he steps in with the Raiders?
