Jim Harbaugh won’t be headed to join the Minnesota Vikings as he has apparently decided to remain in Ann Arbor with the Michigan Wolverines.
The Minnesota Vikings won’t be getting Jim Harbaugh after all. As it turns out, Harbaugh has elected to continue coaching at the college level as he will be maintaining his status as the head coach for the Michigan Wolverines. That’s really good news for Michigan. It’s not so good news for the folks over in Minnesota.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Harbaugh informed Michigan that he’d be back in Ann Arbor for at least a little while longer.
Jim Harbaugh called Michigan to inform the school that, despite interviewing with the Vikings today, he will be returning to school for the 2022 season, sources tell ESPN. Michigan was, in the words of one source, “elated” to get Harbaugh’s decision.

We know how Michigan football fans and Ohio State football fans feel about Harbaugh’s choice, but how are Vikings fans feeling right now?

I'm not happy. What happened in the Harbaugh interview. Vikings continue to screw this up and crush the dreams of Vikings fans. O'Connell hasn't proved anything, he doesn't even call the plays for ghe Rams. I just might sell my season tickets and my license and be done with this

Man being a Vikings fan has its ups and downs. I spent most of the day waiting for the announcement that they are going to hire Jim Harbaugh. Now all of a sudden Harbaugh is out and Rams OC Kevin O’Connell is in.

It’s totally fair for Vikings fans to be upset about all of this. It seemed like they had their next coach lined up and, as we all know now, that’s not the case. Minnesota will need to keep looking around because Harbaugh isn’t leaving the Wolverines.
Way to go @Vikings find yet another way to get us fan's hopes up just to crush them. Can't wait for the spectacular HC hire if Harbaugh wasn't good enough...

I am so close to being done with this so called team.

But, not every Minnesota fan was all that upset about Harbaugh choosing to remain at Michigan. Some Vikings fans actually seemed to be okay with his decision.
Honestly, I’m not as devastated as many Vikings fans seem to be. Harbaugh is undeniably a good coach, but he’s always been kind of a wild card and you don’t know what he’s gonna do next. Case in point, tell everyone he wants an NFL job and then return to Michigan. https://t.co/u0JFW7d5gq

The thing about being a Vikings fan is that you never get time to process any announcements before another one comes up. Harbaugh is out, but O’Connell could come with a shiny new ring. https://t.co/x8gFaJFB3M

It remains to be seen as to which direction the Vikings will go in. They’ll have some pretty good options, but Harbaugh was a proven winner. Losing out on an experienced, successful coach can sting a bit.
