Look: UNC basketball fans with Coach K ‘good riddance’ sign ahead of final game in Chapel Hill
With Duke and North Carolina set to meet on Saturday, UNC fans are letting Mike Krzyzewski know they won’t be missing him one bit.
One of the best rivalries in sports is going to change in a massive way after this season. With Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski retiring once the 2021-22 campaign wraps up, the showdowns with North Carolina just won’t be the same for the Blue Devils.
On Saturday, Krzyzewski will lead Duke against the Tar Heels in Chapel Hill for the last time. With College GameDay in Chapel Hill for Coach K’s final trip, UNC basketball fans made sure to bring out their best signs to wish him well in retirement.

North Carolina fans trolling Mike Krzyzewski for Duke game is no surprise
As you can see from the tweet above, this group of North Carolina supporters clearly can’t wait for Krzyzewski to call it a career. They could also care less that it’s the legendary coach’s last contest on the UNC campus.
When Krzyzewski does end up calling it quits, he’ll no question go down as one of the best college coaches sports fans have ever seen. During his time with Duke, Krzyzewski has won five National Championships, which is second on the all-time list behind only John Wooden (10).
Since taking over as head coach at Duke, Krzyzewski has faced North Carolina a total of 95 times, posting a 49-46 record. The matchups have been quite even, but you can’t deny the fact that Krzyzewski’s players have broken countless North Carolina hearts as well.
This includes rough memories for the UNC faithful in Chapel Hill, of course including Austin Rivers’ unreal buzzer-beater back in February of 2012.
