Arizona Cardinals. 2. player. 32. Pick Analysis. OLB. Chandler Jones. Scouting Report

Could Chandler Jones turn an AFC North tackle into a Taylor Lewan turnstile?

Chandler Jones pretty much got to the Pro Bowl for the fourth time in his career this year based on how badly he embarrassed Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Taylor Lewan in Week 1. Jones had five of his 10.5 sacks this season vs. the Titans. Though he has quietly been a pass-rushing superstar with the Arizona Cardinals for half-a-dozen years, a deep playoff run has evaded him.

While he may have a Super Bowl ring already from his days with the New England Patriots, Jones is not getting any younger. 2022 will be his age-32 season out of Syracuse. Though he is already on a Pro Football Hall of Fame trajectory, just imagine what type of numbers he could put up playing next to T.J. Watt. Pittsburgh will become Blitzburgh once again, and it will be awesome.

Of course, Jones has maybe one last big contract left on the docket before he hangs up the spikes. It may not be anything more than a three or four-year deal, but he will have a market. If he is okay with being a No. 2 pass rusher playing alongside someone who is clearly better than him right now, then he may leave Watt’s older brother after only one year together in the Valley of the Sun.

Take peak Watt and Bud Dupree, but kick it up a notch, and that is what yinz may get with Jones.
