Russell Wilson. 1. player. 36. QB. Seattle Seahawks. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Russell Wilson is the franchise quarterback worth giving up the farm for

Not saying the Steelers should do it, but the front office needs to put out a hard offer to see if they can pry Russell Wilson out of the Pacific Northwest and into the Steel City. With the Seattle Seahawks coming off their worst season in years, the time is now to capitalize on the NFC West franchise being in a state of flux to get the heir apparent to Ben Roethlisberger the Steelers need.

If the Steelers front office is cool with mortgaging its future to replace a future first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer with another, then that should be the right course of action. There are Steelers fans who don’t want to see Pitt star Kenny Pickett go on to have success elsewhere like Dan Marino did with the Miami Dolphins a generation ago. But Pickett is not going to be Wilson.

Even if Pickett, Malik Willis, Matt Corral, Sam Howell or whoever become NFL legends, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. To potentially land Wilson for the final third of his hall-of-fame career is a gamble worth taking. He would make the Steelers a force to be reckoned with for years to come, no matter how much Burrow and Jackson develop with their AFC North rival teams.

This is not a good quarterback class, so the Steelers may look to trade for one instead of draft one.
