Desperate times call for desperate measures, and yes that could mean bringing Dennis Schroder back after his odyssey in Boston.

Schroder spent the 2021 season with the Lakers, averaging 15.4 points, 3.5 points and 5.8 assists in a season that saw him hold out for a top-dollar deal.

Los Angeles wasn’t willing to pay up and he ended up signing with the Celtics. The Lakers were proven right as Schroder didn’t quite fit in with Boston and got shipped out to Houston at the trade deadline.

Now he is one of the top buyout options on the market. There’s a pretty decent argument for taking another look now that Rajon Rondo is with the Cavaliers. LA needs a facilitator and Schroder did that job well for them last season.

There might be some awkwardness between the two sides, but both were better off with each other. Schroder will have to swallow his pride but he knows what he can achieve with the Lakers as opposed to another team.
