With the contract of Eric Bieniemy set to expire, it’s up in the air if he’ll return to the Chiefs next season or not.

Kansas City Chiefs fans could find out soon enough if Eric Bieniemy will be back on the sidelines next season next to Andy Reid or not. Bieniemy’s contract will be expiring soon with Kansas City, and while he had been linked to head coach openings, he never got the offer he was looking for.

Now, Bieniemy is deciding whether or not to return to the Chiefs next fall. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Bieniemy isn’t sure of what he’ll be doing, but he’s ready to meet with head coach Andy Reid in the near future to come to a decision.

Eric Bieniemy could end up leaving the Chiefs this offseason

According to Schefter’s sources, Bieniemy is considering returning to the Chiefs, taking an OC job elsewhere and also potentially going to coach in the college game. Bieniemy is also thinking about taking a year away from football.

It seems like everything is on the table here for the veteran coach, who has been with Kansas City since 2013. Once Bieniemy and Reid meet, Chiefs fans should have a better idea of what’s to come for the offense.

Bieniemy has been fantastic running things for Kansas City, and he’s played a big role in helping quarterback Patrick Mahomes become one of the best players in the game. Kansas City has been to the Super Bowl in two of the past three years, winning it all in February of 2020. Bieniemy of course helped get that job done.

As things stand, no one really knows what the future has in store for Bieniemy. If he does leave town in the coming weeks, it’d be a significant blow for Reid and his staff.
