3. Prioritize using their three top-100 picks on getting better defensively

This may seem counterintuitive to a degree, but the best thing the Packers can do in the 2022 NFL Draft is prioritize adding defensive playmakers who can come in and compete right away with their three top-100 picks. Green Bay has the No. 28, the No. 60 and the No. 92 overall selections this spring. At least two of these top-100 picks needs to be with a defensive standpoint in mind.

The Packers have had success relatively recently going with defensive players high in their previous drafts. Look no further than cornerbacks Jaire Alexander and Eric Stokes. By prioritizing acquiring defensive talent in the draft, the Packers will be getting promising prospects under team-friendly deals, as opposed to overpaying for someone else’s players in NFL free agency.

If the Packers were to use one of these top-100 picks on an offensive player, go get some more reinforcements in the trenches. The Packers not only need to hold onto the leads Rodgers and the offense creates for them, but they need to keep the two-time reigning NFL MVP clean and upright in the pocket. He can still carry the team at times, but any support he can get will be appreciated.

The Packers must create cap space to re-sign key free agents before going defense in the draft.
