2022 NFL Draft: Las Vegas Raiders 7-round mock fills major holes
It is no big secret that the Raiders are going to need help at cornerback next season, especially if Casey Hayward decides to sign elsewhere as a free agent. Las Vegas got great play from the veteran in 2021, but he was one of Gus Bradley’s guys, and with Bradley in Indianapolis, he could be one-and-done with the Raiders.
At pick No. 53 overall, the Silver and Black add Florida cornerback Kaiir Elam, who would be entering a perfect situation with this team. Trayvon Mullen is a solid player but has struggled to stay on the field, and while Nate Hobbs was outstanding in the slot, the team needs help on the outside.
Elam is someone who could come in and start right away in this secondary, one that took a step forward under Bradley, but also one that lacks depth. Mullen is going to be a starter, as will Hobbs, but who will fill the third role is undecided, and it could end up being a player selected early in the 2022 NFL Draft.
