5 landing spots for Chris Godwin in 2022 NFL free agency
Los Angeles Rams
The Bucs vowed to “run it back” in the 2021 season, but it was the Rams who foiled their chances of the first back-to-back Super Bowl winners since the 2003-2004 Patriots.
Can the Rams run it back in 2022? That’s the resounding question following Super Bowl LVI, and the simple answer is this: the Rams could win if they keep Aaron Donald and find a way to re-sign big names once again in free agency.
It was how the Rams went to the Super Bowl in 2018 and won it in 2021, and they’ll need to make big signings again if they want a chance at the ring chase in 2022. The good news is that their current contracts with Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp could be restructured. With Odell Beckham Jr. out next season, Chris Godwin could be a nice addition to giving Stafford someone else outside of Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods.
The passing game is what gave the Rams their first Super Bowl in over 20 years, and as long as they can enjoy Stafford, they should take advantage and build out a solid wide receiver corps around him.
After all, Stafford stumbled in the Super Bowl when Ben Skorownek stepped in for OBJ. If the Bucs proved anything this year, it’s that having wide receiver depth is a must.
